Install Microsoft Office 2007 on Ubuntu (PlayOnLinux)

Yeah, this time i'll tell you about how to install Microsoft Office 2007 on Ubuntu. It's easy! PlayOnLinux can help you to do it easily! How...?

PlayOnLinux interface

The easiest way is using PlayOnLinux (link in the end of this post). Just download and install it. After install it, run PlayOnLinux (Application>Games>PlayOnLinux) and click button install. Next step is, navigate to office and choose Microsoft Office 2007. Before installing, it's better for you to have an internet connection when installing Microsoft Office 2007 using PlayOnLinux, so it can get everything needed to install Microsoft Office 2007.

Next? Just follow the given instruction, it is like installing Microsoft Office on Windows. (Enter Product Key>Accept License Agreement>Install).

Yeah, it's easy to install it, but after install Microsoft Office 2007, I face a problem. I can't run Power Point 2007, but Word and Excel 2007 can run normally. When I tried to run Power Point, it show Power Point splash screen and then a box appeared and said that Power Point was unable to load, and ask me to enter safe mode in Power Point. Any of you have the same problem with me? If yes, how to solve it?

I ask Google and found the answer. All we need to do to run Power Point 2007, we must set riched20.dll to winecfg. So how to get riched20.dll? You can get it from winetricks. If you've already installed winetricks, just open your terminal and type winetricks. There you'll found riched20.dll. If you haven't install winetricks, you can install it on Ubuntu Software Center.

After get riched20.dll, open your wine configuration (Application>Wine>Configure Wine) and add riched20.dll to wine libraries. And then, run your Power Point again, it should work fine now! :)
